Raekwon vs. Ghostface: Who Is The Better Rapper?

Ghostface

While being named the "Best Rapper" makes an MC exceptional, being labeled the "Better Rapper" makes them the exception. There's more kudos in being considered the better rapper because the hidden contender in this type of challenge is quality instead of quantity. The raised area where the competitors are placed for scrutiny changes from a line up of rappers to a matchup of just two emcees so the decisive factor of superiority is more about excess rather than extent. When determining who the best is, extent is the most important dynamic because it singles out the rapper who possesses a unique talent that surpasses that of all other MCs. But when deciding who is better, rappers are usually measured up against their equal so excess is more relevant in determining who is made of the better material when the two MCs are basically cut from the same cloth.

Who has more lyrical range? Who has more mass appeal? Who has more potential of being a rap legend?

Your favorite online magazine has chosen two of the best MCs in the game right now, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, to compete for the "Better Rapper" title. Usually these two mic check masters share the spotlight, but Yo! Raps wants to know which MC would outshine the other if their stance changed from side-by-side to head-to-head.

The views and opinions expressed in this blog are those of the writer and not necessarily those of Yo! Raps.
