Emile Danero’s eclectic palette of inspiration is manifested in his compelling new music. The artist cites influences ranging from Mozart, to Tupac, to Nirvana. Though born in Jamaica Queens, New York, Danero spent most of his younger years living abroad throughout the United States and Europe. Thus, his cultural explorations have resulted in a resourceful outlook on life… one he conveys passionately through his music.
What’s up Emile! In the beginning, can you please introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Emile Danero and I am a Hip Hop artist that does Hip Hop infused with singing (harmonizing) also called alternative Hip Hop.
How did you get your rap moniker Emile Danero?
I have a passion for movies and Robert Deniro is my favorite actor. So Danero, spelled differently stands for my passion and Emile is me as it is my actual real name… my middle name. So together the name Emile Danero simply stands for “Real Passion”.
What is special about you as an artist that people should check out your music?
I’m just myself. I don’t rap about selling kilos of this and that or made up events that took place. My life has been crazy as hell as it is and odd at the same time so I don’t have a reason to make anything up. So my whole thing is just being as authentic as possible whether I’m loved or hated for it that’s just what I chose to be.
How would you describe your sound and style?
I would say it’s like a boom bap East Coast kind of style. That’s what I get compared to so that’s the style I assume I fit in the most. That’s what listeners tell me I sound like, a rapper in the 90’s era more or less.
Your mixtape “The Welcoming” will be released on LiveMixtapes soon. What is the concept behind your project?
It took me a while to complete this mixtape and it means a lot to me. I went through so much over the time of making this. I even lost my friend, which is also the producer of the mixtape. He produced about 90% of the production on this tape. He passed away so the concept of the mixtape was simply joy at first since we were excited to release our first project together. But then when he passed and how he passed, it became darker, angry.
Any songs we should pay close attention to? Why these songs?
I would say the intro, “Exodus” and “Hold Me Down”. These songs introduce me as a person and display my versatility but of course this is simply my own opinion. Other may feel otherwise.
Your single “Tell Me Part 2” is buzzing right now. What is it about?
“Tell me” is simply about holding someone down and questioning if you are being held down the same way you are holding them down. It’s the typical “Do they love me like I love them” scenario that you hear about in relationships.
How did you link up with reality star Candice B. for the video?
That was actually set up by someone we linked up with in LA. They had an idea and we simply ran with it.
What other projects are you currently working on? What can we expect from you in the near future?
Right now, we are focused on this record. I pretty much go with the flow so the record and mixtape is our focus at the moment until we go back to the drawing board.
You are down with Eturnal Music Group. What is it being signed to them?
Well, myself and my business partner started the label together so in a sense I’m signed to myself. I don’t know how that feels as I have nothing to really compare it to.
Is there any artist you would love to work with? If so, why this artist?
Not any specifically but I’d like to work with a soul artist. Someone I can really create a passionate and painful melody with. I like music that tugs at the soul. So much watered down stuff these days, people forgot that they even have souls.
It’s difficult to come up as an artist these days, what is your formula for success?
I’ll tell you that once I consider myself successful [laughs].
What is your opinion about the music industry? What would you change if you could?
I have no opinion on it really. I’ve learned a long time ago not to cry over spilled milk, or in other words things you can’t change. I have opinions I choose to keep to myself. I go with the flow so really I just mind my own and go with the way things are. It is what it is, that’s how I look at things.
Where can people find you online?
Yea, I’m easy to find on all platforms like Twitter, YouTube, Soundcloud etc. @Emiledanero. And thank you all for checking me out and having me! I appreciate it and hope you enjoy the music. Thanks again!connect
