Damien The DemonMost recently, Yo! Raps had a quick chat with up-n-coming and aspiring, yet unknown, Ann Arbor, Michigan rapper and producer Damien The Demon, who is constantly feeding the Internet with new tracks and beats, trying to become a household name in the urban music circuit.

First off, please introduce yourself to the audience and let us know where you are from.

I'm Damien The Demon, a music producer and rapper. I’m from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

How is the Hip-Hop scene there where you are coming from?

The Hip-Hop scene where I’m from is pretty good with some very talented artists. The Ann Arbor scene always has new groups of musicians and rappers coming out on the scene so it’s solid.

What was it that made you want to become a rapper/producer?

I wanted to prove what a quality rapper can sound like with originality and clever lyrics. I wanted to be a producer on the other hand because I always enjoyed the art of creating something that I can call my own work rather than using someone else’s creation.

How did you get your rap moniker Damien The Demon?

I got the name Damien The Demon from a horror movie and I decided to use the name to describe my musical style and sound. My moniker has nothing to do with the devil, not in the literal meaning of the term. My style is very dark though.

What projects have you released in the past and how have they been received?

My latest freestyle was called Dead Eye Demon, which was well received on the Internet. I generally receive a lot of positive feedback about my music, which makes me proud and shows that I’m on my way.

What are you currently working on? Any project(s) lined up?

I'm currently working on my official album and I hope to release it this year with the right backing. Expect the unexpected!

How would you describe your style and sound?

My style and sound is the creation of my own imagination so it’s very versatile, but dark.

What have been your biggest accomplishments so far in your career?

I accomplished to top the charts on Reverbnation, which was a pretty big thing for me and my future career as I caught the attention of a lot of people.

Where do you see yourself in (5) years from now?

I hope to be offered a beneficial deal with a label that opens new doors for me so I can climb up the ladder. I’m really taking this music thing serious and want to become a household name in the music circuit.
