Beyonce Beyonce has revealed that she and Jay were friends long before they began dating.

Oprah Winfrey has released another sneak peek from her interview with Bey, set to air shortly on OWN.

In the latest clip, Beyonce speaks openly about her relationship with husband and rap mogul, Jay-Z.

Beyonce has long remained silent on the subject of her relationship with her husband, but recently opened up to legendary TV host, Oprah. She emphasised the importance of being friends with a partner, saying that she and Jay-Z were friends for a year and half before they actually began dating.

"We were friends first for a year and a half before we went on any date -- on the phone for a year and a half," she said. "And that foundation is so important in a relationship. Just to have someone that you just like is so important. Someone that is honest."

She also said that her marriage had become a large part of who she was.

"I would not be the woman I am if I did not go home to that man. It just gives me such a foundation," she said.
