French Montana and Nicki Minaj have sparked a heap of discussion with their adult themed collaboration, Freaks.
Now, French Montana has explained why Nicki Minaj was the ideal femcee to appear on the recent cut.
French explained that the track was very definitely for New York, and he said that Nicki had to be involved because she was the hottest rapstress to hale from NYC at the moment.
Speaking to Rap Fix Live, he explained his choice.
"I just felt like she was one of the hottest female artists to come out of New York in a while, and I felt the same about me," he said. "So I felt it was a record that's more for the city -- [you] see two people that's doing real good put a record together."
The lyrics mainly deal with French’s opulent lifestyle, with some additional risque offerings from Ms. Minaj.
"Light up the fire, you know we're getting higher," French raps. "Rolling up loud, real n*ggas move in quiet/When I buy it, you donkeys on a diet/Bringing all my jewels, I didn't know I'd start a riot/Riding with the blanka, messing up your make-up, you blowing up her phone, she ain't tryin' to pick up -- Riding with the wolves, ain't talkin' Minnesota, shorty coming over, go and bend it over/Let me bank on it, put a drink on it/You a freak, put my name on it."
