A sex tape, allegedly featuring Kanye West, has sparked a storm of controversy.
The Internet has been buzzing with news of the reported tape. Fans and speculators alike have reacted to the rumours that a Kanye West sex tape was being sold to a number of media outlets.
However, the law firm representing Kanye West has issued a takedown notice, highlighting the legal implications of distributing or buying the tape in question. The firm alleges that the initial tape was actually stolen from Yeezy’s computer.
“Be advised that the Screen Shot, as well as the Tape from which the Screen Shot was taken, were illegally obtained and believed to have been stolen from Mr. West’s computer,” wrote Kanye West’s lawyer, Lisa M. Buckley of Pryor Cashman.
“Your posting, advertising, marketing, displaying and otherwise disseminating the stolen Screen Shot and/or other materials on the Tape constitute actionable violations of Mr. West’s rights of privacy and publicity,” the notice continued.
“We hereby demand that you: (1) immediately cease and desist from posting, advertising, marketing, displaying and disseminating the illegally obtained Screen Shot of Mr. West," the notice added.
