The rapper has given his own feelings on the first week sales success of his debut drop.
Based On A T.R.U. Story has soared to the top of the album charts, hitting the number one spot in the first week of release. 2 Chainz took to the social networking site, Twitter, to express his gratitude to fans for getting his album to the top of the charts.
"Get the #1 album Based On A T.R.U. Story on Itunes http://smarturl.it/btsdlxit," he wrote on August 21.
"Thank each and. Every one of you that helped me have the NUMBER 1 album n kuntry," he added. "NUMBRE UNO."
Based On A T.R.U. Story has had phenomenal success so far, moving 146,900 copies in the first week of sales.
2 Chainz also his expressed his reaction in an interview with DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God.
"I'm looking at it like I worked my a** off," he said. "It's not about the record. I'm not even in tune with what the charts are doing. When it first happens I get geeked and then I go back to work. I just know I've done, just this year alone, I've done two tours with two people I feel like are major artists with diverse fan bases -- I'm just looking at what I did on my own prior to doing tours. Just going around kissing babies, shaking hands, and just really trying to figure out the connection with the fans. So will I be disappointed if I only do one-something? No, but at the same time I just got high expectations for myself."
