Chris Brown and Drake are facing the consequences over the nightclub melee that occurred on June 14th of this year.
On Wednesday (August 15), the music stars were slapped with a $16 million lawsuit. The club’s affiliated company, Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., is holding them accountable for the bottle throwing brawl that occurred among several members of their entourages.
The suit places blame on Brown and Drake, stating that they did nothing to stop the glass throwing in the crowded club that evening "in circumvention of the venue's extensive security measures". It also states that the fight that occurred besmirched the chic nightclub’s reputation.
"Defendants overran the nightclub's extensive security measures and the brawl overtook the entire space. Terrorized patrons ran for cover... most were unable to protect themselves," says the lawsuit, according to The New York Daily News.
The lawsuit also points to media accounts about the rivalry between Brown and Drake, possibly over their romantic ties to singer Rihanna. "It's their posse, and they're in charge, and to the extent that they could have controlled or dissipated whatever was going on, we don't believe they did," he said.
It is believed by Entertainment Enterprises that the two men may have even encouraged the fight. Neither Brown’s nor Drake’s representatives have released any comments regarding the suit.
