Amidst the numerous lawsuits over unpaid royalties and monetary compensation for copyright infringement, it seems as if music and money now go hand-in-hand whereas music itself used to have the upper hand. But thankfully, there are still some artists who consider music to be a reward within itself.
Rapper Yung Joc is the perfect example.
According to sources, Joc plans to release his new album, Grind Flu, for free. The Swagg Team Entertainment release will be available Tuesday (August 11) for free download on the rapper's website, www.swaggteament.com. Joc's charitable move was inspired by his desire to give back to his fans as well as re-establish himself in the industry on his own terms.
"Fans all over the world have been eagerly waiting for me to release a new album and I felt the time was right at this very moment to release Grind Flu for free, gift it to my fans and do things my way," the Joc stated about the follow-up to his 2007 hit album, Hustlenomics.
The album comes months after Yung Joc went public with allegations that Block Ent./Bad Boy, had not paid him royalties on his hit albums released on the major label in over a year.
The first single from the new album is the title track which features Montana Da Mack and includes production from Nitty, Yung Sears, Drumma Boy, and K-Rock.
