Amerie Readies Def Jam Debut Album

Amerie Singer/songwriter Amerie is ready for her comeback after a two-year hiatus.

 

She recently announced the release of her Def Jam debut, In Love & War, which will be available in August. The lead single, Why R U, will be available on June 15th.

 

For the album, Amerie has been working with Sean Garrett, Teddy Riley, Jim Jonsin, Rico Love, Eric Hudson (Brandy, Kanye West), and The Buchanans, who produced Why R U. So far, no collaborations have been announced.

 

The video for the first single is set to premiere on Monday (June 8) on BET.

 

In Love & War is the fourth album from the Washington DC-native. Previously, Amerie released her Columbia debut All I Have and the Sony releases Touch and Because I Love It. Her freshman CD sold 661,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, while Touch sold 406,000.
