Mike Jones Talks Weight Loss, New Album
Posted: Tuesday - March 31, 2009 | Comments (0)
One look at Mike Jones and fans saw the obvious change -- his significant weight loss. In addition to his new look, the rapper is back on the scene with a new album and sat down with Ballerstatus.com to give up the low down on both.

Despite all of the weight loss "secrets" and potions, Jones reportedly said he credits his new svelte figure to healthy food and exercise.

"I was almost 300 pounds man. I lost almost 100. I'm 190 right now," Mike told BallerStatus.com. "That goes from eating Subway, running on the treadmill, and watching what I eat. I'm trying to make sure I'm the urban Jared right here, baby."

Jones said he felt the need to have a new look along with his new music after being off the hip hop radar.

After four years of being off the hip hop radar, Jones said he felt the need to have a new look along with his new sound -- or at least what his fans consider new.

"I've been away from the market so long, I just wanted to come back with a new look, a new image, and a new sound. Really, the sound been here, but since people say it's new, it's new," he said.

The rapper then dished on his new album, The Voice, and why he chose the title.

"I called the album The Voice because I wanted to let people know what the long wait was about, and what happened," the rapper explained. "I explain the four-year hiatus, and I let people know all the gossip you wanna hear about. That's why I call it The Voice. It's best to hear it out my mouth. ... I really just wanted to just let my true fans know where I been, and why I was took away from the game, and why this happened and why this happened."

The Voice is scheduled to hit stores on April 28.

Torch - The New New York

Torch When Bronx, New York born rapper Torch looked up one day and found himself amongst the palm trees of Miami, instead of the cold cement of New York, he effectively made the best of it. Combining the grit and grind of New York that he was raised on and the laid back swagger of Miami he adjusted to, his lyrical outlook has made him a rapper to watch as well as appreciate.
