The first things that come to mind when most people think of Kentucky are chicken and horses. Blessed with an eye-popping 34-28-41 figure, Louisville native KY Styllionz has as delicious set of legs and thighs that would make the Colonel blush, and a thoroughbred business attitude.
Styllionz has spent the last two years compiling a resume that includes both local and national publications and is a member of the Core Models (an offshoot of the Core DJs collective.) Yo! Raps recently caught up with the sassy 26-year-old in this special feature.
Who are some fashion/urban models in the industry that you respect and/or admire?
There is really not too many in the urban industry that I'd say I look up to. I gained a lot of respect for Tyra Banks for giving a transgendered male a chance to be on her show. She has been doing a lot of positive things for the Gay and Lesbian community lately. So I have to take my hat off to her for that. She has come so far in her career and doing what she's done is taking a huge risk. So I have to say that she is the one I'm looking to right now.
Who are your favorite photographers? Who would you like to work with?
All of the photographers I've worked with up to this point are very dear to me. They have all brought something different out of me. Ty Lockhart with Nicely Done Photography started it all and created this beast [laughs], so I owe a lot to him. I have so many more that I want to work with, these photographers I chat with on a regular. I feel it's good to build a relationship first, so I feel better naming them: Ecstasy Models, HLB Lavish Magazine, Femme Photography, Desirale Images (Bogan), Lorenzo Smith, Kelvin Bushan... Basically all my photographers on my Model Mayhem [laughs]. So yea, I have a lot of traveling left to do.

Who are your favorite recording artists past, present, and future?
Lil Buna... R.I.P.! Notorious B.I.G, Lil Kim (back in the day), Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Trey Songz, Drake, Rock City, Red Cafe (he's hot, watch for his new shit), Monster Squad, Young Niq, Dorrough, Young AC, Lil Wayne and Jamie Foxx to name a few.
What's the most rewarding part of being a model? What's the least rewarding?
The most rewarding part to me is having the ability to re-create myself in front of the camera. The everyday me is cool, but sometimes I just want to break out of the norm. It's amazing to see the outcome of a photoshoot. The least rewarding side of the business is of being an urban model, it's so hard to get away from that title and break into other sides of the business, and the fact that inside the whole urban industry, some want you to do so much for free and try to pull the "Exposure" card! I hate that about the industry.
What's the strangest online comment or request you've received from an admirer?
The one that gets me is the "Let's meet up" shit.
What advice and/or tips would you give other young women interested in modeling?
The biggest piece of advice I could ever give is, "Stay true to yourself and don't let anyone take you away from that." If you come in his business saying that you refuse to do something, don't get discouraged when jobs pass you by because you wouldn't do that one thing. It just wasn't meant to be. There is a place for everyone in this business. Just find your spot, but it takes time and dedication.

When do compliments about your looks and/or figure from male fans cross the line?
When it turns sexual. Okay, we have all seen the "Backshots" and yes most of them are nice [laughs]. But you don't have to comment how you'd like to stick "whatever, wherever"!
When did you first realize you had what it took to be a professional model?
My first phone conversation with Tony Neal of the Core DJs. I got word of this Core Model movement and wanted to learn more about it. Up until that point I was just taking pictures, nothing serious at all. I sent him a few pictures and it as on from there. I was a part of a movement that was actually moving [laughs]. I joined the Core family at the 2008 S.E.A Awards and there I got the motivation to make a dent in this industry with my name.
Where (magazines, music videos, websites, etc.) have you been featured in the past?
To name a few: The Midwest Leak Magazine, you can catch my monthly column there. Yes I do more than taking pictures! IllFlow Magazine, Straight Stuntin Magazine, JL Enfluenz Magazine, The Source, L'Stylz Magazine, KYStandUp Magazine, H20 Models, MxY Magazine...... Just Google me [laughs].
Where do you want to see yourself professionally in the next few years?
I just want to be happy. I came in this with no expectations. This is not my plan, this is God's plan.
Where's the best place for a "regular guy" to meet a "fantasy woman" like you?
I guess in his fantasies [laughs]. I'm very much into women. Seriously, guys have a blast just being my friend. We have so much more in common that way. I meet a lot of guys at the retreats and conferences that I attend and everytime I make a few new friends. They really respect my lifestyle and find that I'm like one of the Obamas with the exception of my boobies and nice butt [laughs].

Why are models a vital part of the music industry?
Well who else would a guy have to sing or rap to in a video [laughs]. Women are sexual beings and we have what it takes to catch any and everybody's eye. Point blank.
Why are you the next model to make a big splash in the modeling game?
I will say because I'm so well rounded, and I'm not talking about my ass! In my everyday life I am a mother, I work hard and I hold down a household. So coming into this game, I knew how to be independent and push for what I want. I know the grind of making it. Most females think all they need is a big ass and a pretty face... hell nowadays these chicks think they all they need is a big ass and forget what they face and hair look like. I'm a model, and that's what I portray out in public. In doing so, I have gained so much respect from the males in this industry. Believe it or not, they are the ones to determine how far we as urban models go.
How much time do you spend at the gym or working out?
Soft subject [laughs], I haven't been lately. My job is so physical I tend to take that as a workout. I'm currently looking for a personal trainer in my area to work with. I love my size, but I don't want to lose any of it.
How do you feel about posing nude and/or other models that do?
I don't knock anything that anybody does. All I say is keep it tasteful and think about how you'd feel if your family saw that shit. All this spread eagle shit and make a porn tape to come up shit is wack to me, but hey, they feel they need that to come up.... Me, it's funny because a photographer asked me how I'd feel about doing a artistic nude photo shoot, I don't know yet. A strong no on the nude end for me though.

How can people book you for modeling assignments?
