Embracing the title of Video Vixen as a description of the work she's done with Shawty Lo, Gorilla Zoe, B.o.B., and more yet ever shunning the stereotypes that typically come with the moniker, Anastasia Garcia stands before Yo! Raps and its readers with pride.
Prepared to defend her honor, she retorts vicious rumors that she has used anything but talent to assist her in her climb up the ladder of success. Although having a "brick house" build of 34-24-38 hasn't hurt her career at all, Anastasia's character and drive are her true assets. Success is not a dream but destiny for this talented model and actress as she understands what she was put on this earth to do. Revealing more than ever, Anastasia Garcia gives Yo! Raps an exclusive behind the scenes look at what it means to be a true Hip Hop Honey.
A bit of a drifter, you have lived in several locations across the U.S. including Cleveland, Atlanta, and Las Vegas. Where do you consider home and is that were you currently reside?
Well, Cleveland is where I'm from and home as of now, but I plan on Cali being home one day soon. There may be another stint in Atl soon as well.
Being half Dominican, are you in touch with your Hispanic side? Can you speak Spanish or follow any Latin traditions or customs?
Yeah, I speak Spanish a little. I also follow some of the traditions such as observing Holidays. I've attended the Dominican parade in NY. I also celebrate the Dominican Independence Day from Haiti which actually was just a few days ago. The tradition I follow most is the food! [Laughs] If you've read any of my other interviews then you already know I love food! I absolutely love Pica Pollo which is breaded deep fried chicken and Sancocho which is a soup.
You have done numerous major music videos. Enlighten our readers on exactly which videos they should watch out for you in.
I was in Shawty Lo's Foolish Remix, Lil Scrappy's Trash Bag Money, B.o.B.'s Haterz Everywhere, King Kun's She Likes It, Gorilla Zoe's recently released Waddle, and Yung Ralph featuring Wingo Of Jagged Edge's Like This which has not been released yet.

Where you an extra in the videos, or do you have any principle roles to brag about?
Oh, yes! I'm the lead in Like This and have featured roles in Waddle, Trash Bag Money, and Haterz Everywhere.
What was you favorite video to film and why?
Foolish Remix and Like This because I was treated very well, and they were not stressful to shoot at all.
By definition, you are a Video Vixen. Some people equate that with "groupie" or other much stronger words. What would you say to people who believe that all models in videos are celebrity-crazed gold diggers?
Well, I feel that it is, what it is. That's how a lot of these women make the game look, but I feel I can change that. Every time I turn down a sexual offer from someone in the industry, I do my part to let them know that not all women will resort to that level. People think that if you're in videos that automatically makes you a groupie. I get paid for my video work. This is my job! I don't do videos so I can be around stars. I do videos for pay and exposure for my modeling and acting career... but people in this world are small minded. I don't like people for what they have. I can work hard and get it myself. I don't have a problem with that at all.
For models who have yet to star in a music video, explain what they can expect on the set - the good and the bad.
Crazy, crazy, crazy! [Laughs] I've seen young girls on the set who have run away from home to do music videos and people don't give a fuck about finding out how old they are. You should be able to guess what goes on! I have been on video sets where the models have been treated terribly, and I've been on sets where the models have been treated like Queens. The makeup and wardrobe sessions are always nice! [Laughs] It really depends on how you make it - what you're willing to do and not do. It can be easy or it can be hard, but the easy way is not always the best way. You've gotta make that choice.

Having been featured in The Source and Sweets, and currently ASIS presents Assets magazine's Premiere Issue/Collector's Edition in which you have a four-page spread, how does it feel to be considered an "Asset" to the industry?
It feels great! I love when people say, "I know you!" and ask for my "John Hancock"! [Laughs] It's just so much fun living this life! I was born for it! I love the spotlight and being a model puts you in it. It sets you apart from other girls and makes them hate you. I love that! Shout outs to all my haters... Besos! [Laughs]
Throughout your music video and other modeling work, you have come across plenty of celebrities. Have you stayed in contact with any of them?
Yeah, Shawty Lo and I are still cool. I'm also cool with the comedian, Shawty and Kia Shine too. Note to all internet gossipers: I'm only friends with all of them.
Magazines, videos, websites... where can we expect to see you next?
I plan on KING hopefully being one of my next stops. My website www.anastasiagarcia.com is now open with another website on the way. I shot for that one in the lovely Orlando, FL at a beautiful estate on a lake so stay tuned for some super hot and sexy images soon. Also, look out for the Like This video by Yung Ralph and Wingo. It should be out soon as well.
In the beginning stages of a modeling career, the road isn't always easily traveled. How have you kept yourself focused and motivated throughout the ups and downs?
I pray and listen to Biggie a lot. He helps me stay focused on my grind. Simply put, I'm a go getter! [Grins] I just work really hard. I believe I can do it, so I do, and I go for what I want. I'm not done yet! [Laughs]

Along with all of the acclaims of Hollywood come major complaints as well. What are your pet peeves with the industry and what experiences have led you to feel this way?
Scams and creeps! [Laughs] I was involved in a scam with a person impersonating a video director. I especially hate bogus event promoters. I had a promoter bring me down to SC recently and not pay me the rest of my money. Fellow models, consider yourself warned: if a promoter contacts you to host an event at the Loft in Colombia, it's a set up. They're not gonna pay you and they will proposition you for sex repeatedly... very bad business. Also the word "exposure" has become so overused. I understand exposure, promotions, and all, but a girl does have to eat!
So often models forget that credits, appearances, and features can not make you a star, they only aid in the process. Fans make stars so with that being said, how do you plan to keep your fans loving you throughout 2009 and the rest of your career?
I'm actually planning for a line of fan-pleasing products this year! Can't reveal much at this moment, but trust me when I say that fans of Anastasia Garcia will not be disappointed!
Hypothetically speaking, if a man was in a bookstore and saw your calendar and another model's, why should yours be the one he chooses to purchase?
My calendar would be so hot that it would be more than just purchasing pics of me. It would be more like taking home your own personal girl friend! [Laughs] Actually a calendar may be in the works, but I've already revealed too much.
At one time or another, everyone wants what someone else has. Before we "rap" up, what is one thing you saw someone else with that you desperately wished you had?
Unequivocal success, financial freedom, a household name, a pink Ferrari... You choose one! [Laughs]
