As famous those words might be thanks to Spike Lee, one should credit him for being so defiant in not conforming to what society deems hype.
With that said, should audiences be hyped up about the release of Jay-Z's The Blueprint 3? Hova has a successful track record with his albums and is one of the best rappers alive but does that grant him automatic applause?
Rumored to have superstar collabos with Drake, Kanye West and Timberland, will this be enough to have similar record sales as Lil Wayne?
A good example of a hyped up album was Eminem's. Relapse was Em's claim to regain fame and record sales prove that selling over 800,000 in the first week. The production, thanks to Dr. Dre, was great quality but Em seemed as if he over did his barrage of obscene commentary. His album was basically all for shock value.
The Blueprint 3 is being blown up before the marketing agencies have even made a flyer for it. Jay-Z is allegedly recording the album overseas and the release date is September 11.
Don't believe the hype?
Unsure whether or not to drink the kool-aid? Well me either and chances are that I'll probably buy it just because its Jay-Z.
